Holiday Garbage Pickup
When a holiday falls on your regularly scheduled garbage pickup day, it is generally rescheduled for the following day, with the exception of Friday's which will be rescheduled for the following Monday. Below is a list of upcoming holidays. If you have questions regarding your service, please contact Public Works at (256) 341-4740.

| Friday, January 1 - New Year's Day | Friday's routes (January 1) will be run on Monday, January 4. |
| Monday, January 18 - Martin Luther King Day | No changes in Sanitation service |
| Monday, May 31 - Memorial Day | No changes in Sanitation service |
| Sunday, July 4 - Independence Day (Offices closed Monday, July 5, for holiday.) |

| Monday, September 6 - Labor Day | No changes in Sanitation service |
| Thursday, November 11 - Veteran's Day | Thursday routes will be run on Friday, and Friday's routes will be run on Monday. |
| Thursday-Friday, November 25-26 - Thanksgiving | Thursday and Friday routes: Household garbage only on Monday following Thanksgiving; no yard carts serviced. Limited loader truck service. |
| Saturday, December 25 - Christmas Day (Offices closed Friday, December 24, for holiday.) |
Friday’s routes (Dec. 24) will be run on Monday, December 27. |
